Ninety miles north of the I-70 corridor, Steamboat Springs is a working western town in the Yampa Valley that has produced more Winter Olympians than anywhere else in America.

Its visitors enjoy famously light snow paired with a century-old Main Street, natural hot springs, premier accommodations, and year-round outdoor recreation. At Steamboat Ski Resort, beginners will find Greenhorn Ranch, a dedicated mid-mountain learning area reached by its own gondola, while experienced skiers come for the aspen glades the mountain is known for and the steep terrain at Mahogany Ridge and Fish Creek Canyon. Beyond the slopes, downtown is a functioning town rather than a resort base. Howelsen Hill, the oldest continuously operating ski area in Colorado, still runs its ski jumps a few blocks from the shops and restaurants.
