About this home

Enjoy stunning tree-lined views of the Western Foothills of Maine in this classically built wood chalet. This home features a beautiful deck, well-stocked game room, and fantastic access to nearby ski slopes, hiking trails, and the White Mountain National Forest. This home sits among the pines southwest of downtown Bethel, where its two-and-a-half acres overlook the Sunday River Valley. Find yourself at the entrance to White Mountain National Forest within minutes, pick up groceries or dine out at one of the excellent restaurants in Bethel seven miles northeast, and spend the winter skiing and snowboarding at Sunday River Resort 12 miles north. Built in 2017, this all-seasons chalet is ideal for hikers, river rafters, leaf-peepers, and winter sports enthusiasts. Settle into the two-story great room, where you can curl up by the gas fireplace on soft leather furnishings, watch movies on the 55-inch Smart TV, and soak in the sunset view through picture windows that frame the national forest. The kitchen island naturally becomes the heart of the house, whether it's morning coffee or dinner prep with the whole group pitching in. Or take the meal outside entirely. Summer evenings on the deck mean grilling, dining, and a glass of wine as the light fades. Pull up a bench at the fire pit below and watch the stars come out (kindling supplied, logs freely available at most local farms). When the evening turns indoors, the game room is ready for foosball, hoop-shooting, and a movie night. WiFi, Amazon Prime and Hulu streaming, and a Bose or Amazon Echo Bluetooth speaker are included. When you're not taking autumn rides on the Conway Scenic Railroad, photographing covered bridges, or cross-country skiing through some of New England's loveliest landscapes, you'll find craft shops, dining spots, and seasonal live music in town. Back at the house, two master suites, a kids' room with bunk beds, an additional guest room, and a pull-out futon mean everyone sleeps well. Picture windows framing the national forest at sunset. A fire pit under a sky full of stars. This is the kind of stay that stays with you. Things to Note - AWD/4WD is required in winter months to safely access the home. -Window a/c units are located in the bedrooms on the main and 2nd floors, in one basement bedroom, and one in the main floor living area (June-September). -Baseboard heating is controlled by thermostats throughout the home. -There is a Keurig single-cup coffee maker along with a regular drip coffee maker. -ThunderSnow Road is part of a private, residential area. Use of roads, including down to the fire pond and Gentle Ben Road, is strictly for turning and access only. Trespassing on adjoining land, hunting, and fireworks are all banned under local bylaws. Guests infringing on these rules will be asked to vacate the property. -Two exterior security cameras are present.
