Most visitors drive. Rutland Regional Airport (RUT) is 35 minutes away with Cape Air service from Boston three times daily, and Lebanon Municipal Airport (LEB) in New Hampshire is about 55 minutes out. Burlington International Airport (BTV) is roughly an hour and 45 minutes, Albany (ALB) two hours and 15, and Boston Logan (BOS) is about three. ### How long is the ski season at Killington? Killington typically runs from late October into late May, more than 200 days, the longest season in the East. It has opened as early as October 1 and closed as late as June 22. ### Is Killington on the Ikon Pass? Yes. Full Ikon Pass holders get up to seven days combined between Killington and Pico, and Ikon Base Pass holders get five. ### How far is Killington from Boston and New York? Boston is roughly 160 miles, about three hours by car. New York City is around 250 miles, closer to five. Montreal is about three hours north. Killington draws heavily from all three, which makes weekends busier than midweek. ### Can I get to Killington without a car? Yes, more easily than most ski destinations. Amtrak’s Ethan Allen Express runs daily from New York Penn Station to Rutland, where The Bus runs hourly to the resort. Vermont Translines serves Rutland from Burlington, Albany, and Hanover. Seasonal buses run from Boston and NYC directly. ### Are Uber and Lyft available at Rutland airport? Not reliably. Killington Resort advises arranging a shuttle or rental car before you land rather than counting on rideshare at baggage claim. The Bus runs hourly from Rutland to the resort, and several private shuttle services operate in the area with advance booking. ### How big is Killington? Killington spans more than 1,500 skiable acres and 155 trails across six interconnected peaks, making it the largest ski area in the eastern United States. Killington bought Pico Mountain in 1996, and the same lift tickets work at both. They operate as separate resorts, though. There’s no lift or trail connection between them, so you’ll need to drive the short distance over. ### Is Killington good place to visit in the summer? Yes. The resort operates Vermont’s largest bike park with 30-plus miles of trails, championship golf, the Beast Mountain Coaster, a ropes course, and scenic gondola rides.
