Accommodations include multi-bedroom condominiums, most with a full kitchen, a gas fireplace, and a private balcony or patio looking toward Vail Mountain or the creek. The property spans three buildings: South and East sit closest to the lifts, with North a short walk behind. Shared amenities include a heated outdoor pool, three hot tubs, a dry sauna, a fitness center, ski valet, and a 24-hour front desk. Lionshead’s shops and restaurants start just outside the door, with Vail Village a walk or a short shuttle ride down the creek path. ## Everything you need to know ### Is Lion Square Lodge ski-in, ski-out? Yes. You can walk from the property to the gondola in under a minute and ski back to the door at the end of the day. The Born Free Express chairlift and Vail’s ski school are also at this base area. ### How close is the gondola? The Eagle Bahn Gondola loads from the same ski yard the lodge stands in, so reaching it is a walk across the snow rather than a drive or a bus. Lionshead Village, with its shops and restaurants, is just beyond it. ### What’s the difference between the buildings? The South and East buildings sit closest to the lifts and offer the most direct ski access. The North building is a short walk farther back, roughly 75 yards from the gondola. All three share the same amenities. ### What amenities does the property have? A heated outdoor pool open year-round, three hot tubs, a dry sauna, and a fitness center. There’s also a ski valet, a concierge, and a 24-hour front desk. Ski, snowboard, bike, and snowshoe rentals are available from Charter Sports, and Trails End, the onsite restaurant, serves tacos and tapas. ### Do I need a rental car in Vail? No. Vail runs a free town bus system, and Lionshead has its own transportation center a short walk away. The property sits within Lionshead Village, and Vail Village is a walk along the creek path or a few minutes by bus. ### How far is Vail Village? About a mile east along Gore Creek, roughly a 15 to 20 minute walk on a paved path, or a short ride on the free town bus. Lionshead has its own shops, restaurants, and bars, so many guests don’t make the trip daily. ### What’s nearby for dining? Lionshead Village restaurants and bars are immediately outside the door, along with Trails End, Lion Square Lodge’s onsite restaurant. Vail Village adds substantially more options a short walk or bus ride away. ### How do I get to Lion Square Lodge? Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) is about 28 miles west. Core Transit runs regional bus service into Vail, with a small fare on routes that include the airport stop in Gypsum. Private shuttle services also operate from both Eagle County and Denver International Airport (DEN), which is roughly two hours east. --- For photos, current rates and availability, see the page: https://www.firstchair.com/destinations/colorado/vail/lion-square-lodge
