At 1175 Bangtail Way, in the Wildhorse Meadows neighborhood off Mt. Werner Road, roughly a mile from the Steamboat ski base. It sits next to The Meadows ski parking lot and near Wildhorse Market Plaza, in a residential setting rather than the base village. ### How do I get to the mountain? The Wildhorse Gondola runs from the Trailhead Lodge property directly to Steamboat Square at the base of the ski area. It operates in winter only, and it means you can come and go on your own schedule without driving or waiting for a bus—which is useful with a group skiing different hours. ### What amenities does Trailhead Lodge have? A year-round heated outdoor pool, three grotto-style hot tubs with water flowing between them, an outdoor fireplace and fire pits, a fitness center, a game room with pool and foosball, a barbecue area, ski and bike storage cages, boot warmers, an elevator, and underground parking. ### Is there a shuttle? Yes, a complimentary on-call shuttle in winter for trips downtown, to the grocery store, and around Steamboat Springs. It’s on-call rather than scheduled, so plan on requesting a ride roughly 20 minutes ahead. ### What are the homes like? Studios through three bedrooms, with full kitchens, gas fireplaces, in-unit washers and dryers, hardwood floors, granite counters, and large private balconies. The building was completed in 2007, so finishes are newer than much of the base-area inventory, and units include central air conditioning, which is uncommon in mountain condos. ### What’s within walking distance? Wildhorse Marketplace, Central Park Plaza, and the Strings Music Pavilion. The Tennis Center is close by, and the Yampa River Core Trail is accessible for walking and biking. It’s a quieter neighborhood than the base area, with dining and shopping nearby rather than immediately outside. ### Is there air conditioning? In nearly every home. Central air conditioning is standard at Trailhead Lodge, which is a great perk during a Steamboat summer. The air conditioning filter in search will show you which homes have it. --- For photos, current rates and availability, see the page: https://www.firstchair.com/destinations/colorado/steamboat/trailhead-lodge
