Copper spreads over 2,500 acres across Union Peak, Copper Peak, and Tucker Mountain, with the topography doing the sorting: gentle greens off West Village, long rolling cruisers from Center Village, and steep bowls and back-bowl terrain out of East Village. It’s also home to Woodward Copper, an indoor training facility with trampolines and foam pits, and an official U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team training center. Beyond the slopes, a free shuttle links the three villages, with more than 20 kilometers of free nordic trails and ice skating on West Lake. ## Everything you need to know ### How do I get to Copper Mountain? Copper sits 75 miles west of Denver directly off I-70 in Summit County, about 90 minutes from Denver International Airport (DEN) in normal conditions. Shuttle services run scheduled trips throughout the ski season. Frisco is eight miles away for groceries and additional dining. ### What does “naturally divided terrain” mean? Copper’s difficulty increases as you move west to east across the mountain’s front face. Greens are concentrated on the west end, blues through the middle, and blacks and expert terrain to the east. Groups with mixed abilities can each ski their own zone and still meet up easily. ### Which village should I stay in? This is the most useful decision you’ll make. West Village opens onto beginner terrain and suits families and first-timers. Center Village is the main hub with intermediate runs. East Village feeds the advanced lifts and steeper terrain. A free shuttle connects all three, so you’re never stuck. ### Is parking free at Copper Mountain? Some of it. The Alpine Lot and Far East Lots are free during winter, with a continuous shuttle running to the base areas about every 10 minutes. Closer lots are paid. If you’re staying on the mountain, most accommodations include parking. ### Do I need a rental car at Copper Mountain? Not once you arrive. A free shuttle loops between the three villages roughly every 10 minutes, and each village is walkable on its own. A car helps for trips into Frisco or Silverthorne, but many guests park and leave it for the week. ### How big is Copper Mountain? Copper covers roughly 2,500 skiable acres across Union Peak, Copper Peak, and Tucker Mountain, climbing from a 9,712-foot base to a 12,441-foot summit with 2,738 feet of vertical. ### How much snow does Copper Mountain get? Around 305 inches in an average year, supported by snowmaking on several hundred acres. The high base elevation helps preserve conditions, and Copper is known for opening the first superpipe in the country most seasons. ### Can beginners ski Copper Mountain? Yes, and the layout makes it unusually good for learning. West Village is dedicated to beginner terrain, with long gentle runs off the American Flyer lift and a base area built around families. New skiers won’t accidentally end up somewhere over their heads. ### Is Copper Mountain good for advanced skiers? Yes. Roughly half the mountain is rated advanced or expert, with bowl skiing at Copper Bowl, Spaulding Bowl, and Resolution Bowl, plus hike-to and cat-served terrain on Tucker Mountain. The steeper lifts run out of East Village. ### How good are the terrain parks? Among the best anywhere. OnTheSnow users voted Copper the top terrain park in North America for the 2025–26 season. The park network includes the Main Vein Superpipe and progressive features scaled from small to large, plus Woodward Copper, an indoor facility with trampolines and foam pits. ### What is Woodward Cooper? A 20,000-square-foot indoor training facility that opened in 2009, built for freestyle skiing, snowboarding, and skateboarding. It has dry slopes, trampolines, and foam pits where anyone can practice tricks safely. Copper is also an official U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team training center. ### What else is there to do at Copper besides skiing? More than 20 kilometers of free nordic trails run around the golf course and West Village, plus ice skating on West Lake, tubing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, and dog sledding. Summer brings mountain biking, hiking, and lift-served sightseeing. ### How many days should I stay at Copper? Three to four days works well, and weekend trips are practical given the proximity to Denver. Groups with mixed abilities often stay longer, since each skier can progress at their own pace across different sides of the mountain. ## All homes in Copper Mountain - [Anaconda 101](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090660) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Anaconda 102](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090804) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Anaconda 103](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090812) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Copper One 407](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090771) · 2 bd · sleeps 7 - [Copper One 504](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090808) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Copper Peak Retreat](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090716) · 4 bd · sleeps 10 - [Copper Springs Lodge 101](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090811) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Copper Springs Lodge 215](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090810) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Copper Springs Lodge 227](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090662) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Copper Valley 114](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090664) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Copper Valley 211](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090815) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Elk Run Townhome 16](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090667) · 3 bd · sleeps 7 - [Just Send It 307](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090723) · 2 bd · sleeps 4 - [Lofty Quarters #409](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090830) · 2 bd · sleeps 4 - [Mountain Plaza Base Camp](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090799) · 2 bd · sleeps 8 - [Passage Point 215](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090821) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Passage Point 316](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090615) · 2 bd · sleeps 7 - [Passage Point 422](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090603) · 1 bd · sleeps 4 - [Peregrine 203](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090817) · 2 bd · sleeps 4 - [Ski Den #22](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090719) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Spruce Lodge, Unit 391](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090670) · 1 bd · sleeps 6 - [Summit House 406](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090669) · 1 bd · sleeps 6 - [Summit House East 112](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090819) · sleeps 4 - [Summit House East 113](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090820) · 1 bd · sleeps 4 - [Summit House East 309](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090715) · 1 bd · sleeps 8 - [Taylor's Crossing 106](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1091073) · 2 bd · sleeps 7 - [Taylor's Crossing 109](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090658) · 2 bd · sleeps 8 - [Telemark 206](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090822) · sleeps 6 - [Ten Mile Circle Apartment 291](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090789) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [The Woods 35](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090800) · 3 bd · sleeps 8 - [Timber Creek Bldg B #305](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090778) · 2 bd · sleeps 8 - [Togwotee Townhome 108](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090824) · 4 bd · sleeps 12 - [Village Escape](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090729) · 1 bd · sleeps 4 - [Village Hideaway](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090835) · sleeps 2 - [Village Point 202](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090661) · 2 bd · sleeps 6 - [Village Square 346](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090656) · sleeps 2 - [Village Square 555](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090823) · sleeps 4 - [Village Square 555 & 557](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090672) · 2 bd · sleeps 8 - [Village Square 557](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090825) · 1 bd · sleeps 4 - [Village Square Suite](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090654) · 2 bd · sleeps 8 - [Village Square Unit 344 & 342](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090809) · 1 bd · sleeps 6 - [West Lake Lodge 309](https://www.firstchair.com/property/1090779) · sleeps 6 --- For photos, current rates and availability, see the page: https://www.firstchair.com/destinations/colorado/frisco-copper-mountain
